Welcome to Meaford, Ontario! This beautiful little harbour town is located along Highway 26 which cuts along Meaford, headed through the downtown core. Meaford is in between Owen sound and Thornbury/The Blue Mountains, on the beautiful Georgian Bay. The small town of Meaford is up and coming with many new developments on their way. Coming soon we have 6 new developments to discuss: Loon Call, Sinclair Homes, Collingwood Street, Skydevco, Meaford Golf Course Phase B, and Georgian Bay Terrace.

About Meaford:
The town of Meaford has a population size (as of 2016 census) of 10,991. It’s safe to say with all these new developments coming in, and all of the changes over the last 5 years that the population size has definitely grown. Meaford is in the heart of Apple Country, lots of apple farms and U-pick opportunities scattered around the Grey County area. Meafords Downtown core has a quaint main shopping drag, with a mix of lovely old buildings, and a big new modern library, along with a new addition of a rainbow sidewalk. They are well known for their Big Red Chair tour with red chairs scattered about the land for photo ops, and fun family activities. Another Meaford classic is their annual scarecrow invasion/festival and their lovely Friday afternoon Farmers Markets from June – Thanksgiving Weekend which features local small businesses and fun music. Meaford Hall Arts & Cultural Centre is the centre of it all – with great events, concerts, and theatre.

On the North west side of Meaford is a beautiful upcoming pocket, the development is called Loon Call. Loon Call will have a mixed community of estate sized lots, single-detached, semi-detached, and townhouses planned. There will be approximately 210 units. As of May 2025 these properties will start in the $600s.

Across from the Chrysler dealership on the South West side of Meaford there will be another new pocket of Bungaloft townhomes and semis. This development is being sold by Sinclair Homes, called Bay Bounds, and may consist of up to 400 units. They are advertising a quality-built, energy-efficient new home community. As of May 2025 these homes are currently for sale and starting in the early $600s.

Up for grabs in the pre-consultation phase just off Meaford’s downtown core, is Collingwood Street where there could be 70 residential units available. As of May 2025, there are no updates to share.

Over by Meaford’s North-East side is a special development of a proposed spa, hotel, and condos, for a total of approximately 169 units that will be coming soon. This will be located on the corner of Fuller Street and Boucher Street East. Updates on this development as of September 2021 state that this new development will feature “nine buildings: a five-storey hotel and spa, three two-storey townhouse buildings, four four-storey waterfront townhouse buildings, and one four-storey apartment building.” As a result, it is going to be a fabulous location to reside! MAY 2025 update: This development will be known as “Apen Shores.”

Meaford Golf Course Phase B is also coming soon, with approximately 51 units. These homes are a hole-in-one with estate-sized lots all backing into either green space or the golf course. There will be a few builders to work with to help choose your dream home. These homes will be starting at a million – 1.6. If you have always wanted to live on a Golf Course then this is the development for you!
Meaford: The Fairways
The Fairways development in Meaford is a part of Hilton Head Heights by Manorwood Homes. As of May 2025 the site has newly serviced lots that will be home to luxury detached Bungalows located on Meafords Golf course! One other notable area slated for development is along Legion road. The development is known as Georgian Bay Terrace or Georgian Bay Harbour. These are Apartment style condos with bachelor, 1 bedroom, 1 bed and den, and 2 bedroom condos. As of June 2025, land is being developed, and we have heard from the developers that they are preparing to start working on the water main upgrade in July 2025, and once completed, will start construction on the building. This will be a lovely 5 story building with 150 suites that will be right across from the Beaver River, walkable to town, and all area trails.
